For your consideration is a wonderful art nouveau glass vase with silver overlay. I believe it was made by Loetz during the early 1900's. The glass has a satin finish and the color has a smooth transition from rose to blue.
The silver overlay features a stunning design of roses that looks like the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The piece has no signatures that we can find. There are two sets of hand-etched numbers on the underside. The first reads "1695/5" with m.
This piece measures 4 7/16" tall, 3 3/4" wide and about 2 1/2 front to back. The condition is quite good with no chips or obvious repairs. The underside shows normal wear.
There is one area with some fine scratches to the glass. Hard to photograph but I tried my best to point this out.
Just examine the photo with the white pointer. The silver has been wiped with a silver polishing cloth which removed most of the darkening. There is still some tarnish as I did not want to over-clean it. I'd love to hear from anyone who has any information about this. I'm also open to all reasonable offers.
This vase will be double-boxed for safe arrival. Feel free to ask any questions.
