This exceptionally fine example has a wonderfully stylish and elegant shape which glistens with a beautifully rich and vibrant iridescent colour. The magnificent iridescent surface glistens with electric shades of blue, green, purple, pink, and gold; the radiant oil slick colours appearing to change as light dances over the elegantly curved form. The iridescent colours have been combed into a pulled feather pattern creating a breath takingly beautiful effect inspired by quality glass pieces of the Art Nouveau period produced by such renowned companies like Tiffany and Loetz. MARKS: This piece is beautifully signed to the base with Sean O'Donoghue's inscribed mark. THE ARTIST: Aged just 15 years old, Irish born O'Donoghue was accepted in a 5 year apprenticeship with the renowned crystal company Waterford. 10 years later he awarded the title of Master Blower. After 14 years with Waterford, O'Donoghue needed a new challenge, migrating to the sunny shores of Noosa where he established his own studio.Drawing on his skills learnt at Waterford, and with the reefs and rainforests as his inspiration, O'Donoghue creates his vibrantly coloured pieces which feature in both public and private collections in Australia and overseas.
