I just got burned out listing so many of my husband's collections after his death last year. I will be continuing the listings of his fabulous holiday/christmas collections, as well as, interspersing my listings with items from his and our other collections of fine victorian items such as silverplate, sterling, jewelry, pottery, porcelain, glass and many other wonderful and rare items.
We collected for about 45 years, so our home was crammed full of treasures. I have taken a vacation from my job to power list as much as I can over the next 10 days. I will be listing a few pieces from our collection of Czech and other lovely Victorian jewelry to start with. My husband was a Diamond Setter & Gemologist by trade in his younger years and had a wonderful eye for lovely pieces. He bought me these lovely pieces of jewelry for Birthdays, Anniversaries and Christmases through the years and so loved that I actually wore them so we could both enjoy them.
So with that being said, here we go........... Made in Czechoslovakia (although it is unmarked). It measures 12.5" long from the clasp to the end of the pendant stone, and the chain measures about 14" for around your neck. Lovely green/purple glass beads on the chain, and a purple/lilac molded art glass pendant dangles from a brass art nouveau winged fairy with a large prong set piece of clear, green and purple art glass atop it between the fairy's wings. The top part of the necklace chain was replaced by my husband about 40 years ago because it had completely turned green, but he used the same style of chain in gold tone and layout as the original and it has a screw clasp. This is such an UNUSUAL and BEAUTIFUL piece. It has been a pure JOY for me to have this in my collection.
