The color of the stones are breathtaking... The large center red glass tone and 4 small glass stones are on a detailed gold tone base. The detail and framing on this piece is amazing...Measures approx 2 1/2" long and 2" wide... This was the type of brooch that was used to secure a sash at a ladies hip during the late 1880/1910 when wearing a sash over the shoulder and across the bosom (imitating Queen Victoria) or around the waist was popular..
