Antique Art Nouveau Austro Bohemian Glass Vases Pallme Konig. This exceptional and genuine antique pair of vases dates c. The amethyst glass vases are 195mm tall with iridescent hues of purple, gold, green and teal.
We would describe the green as peacock green. The outside of the pieces have thick veins or threads of faintly milky glass randomly placed criss crossing over each other. We are in no doubt that the piece is Austro Bohemian in origin and the style leads us to believe it is Pallme Konig.
Despite much research we have not been able to find an example shaped exactly like this but have found examples of the rarer purple colour and type of threading. The vases are a stunning example of Art Nouveau Art Glass and are absolutely free of chips or cracks. One vase has some patchiness to the outside of the base as shown.
This does not appear to be wear but part of the finished glass. There are a few lines across the threading but these are not cracks but part of the original application when the glass was hot and it can be seen are in the top surface of the threading.
Both have an unpolished pontil rod mark to the base. As mentioned the vases are 195mm tall. You can also find us on facebook. International Buyers - Please Note.
